Clarinetist in Paris FAQ
Bonjour, hi, nice to meet you! If you're new around here, I've created this post so you can get to know me a bit better.
Why Clarinetist in Paris?
I’m a classically trained clarinetist who lived in Paris (and still visits several times a year). Paris will always have my heart, and I will always have my clarinet.
What made you start travelling?
When I lived in Paris, I used that as an opportunity to take advantage of cheap flights (shoutout to budget airlines Transavia and Ryanair!) to explore Europe. I would find a free weekend/stretch of time, check Google flights for cheap travel destinations, pack my bag, and go! During my travels, I met several clarinetists and musicians which in turn led to concert and collaboration invites, which turned in to more travel opportunities.
What languages can you speak?
I’m fluent in English and French, and conversational in German. I’m casually learning Faroese and Danish (stay tuned for some posts about my artist residencies in the Faroes!)
What are your favorite places you’ve travelled to?
Paris is my favorite city in the world! The Faroe Islands also holds a special place in my heart, as I’ve spent quite a lot of time there learning about Faroese clarinet culture. Other favorite places include Montenegro, Estonia, Cyprus, and Slovenia.
What’s something you try to do everywhere you go?
Visit a cat café! I love cats and miss my own cats when I travel, so I try to make time to hang out at local cat cafés during my trips. I also love visiting local flea markets, and I’ve accumulated quite the collection of tchotchkes during my travels.
How can I listen to you play clarinet?
I have tons of recordings on my YouTube channel. You can also check out my blog Jenny Clarinet for everything clarinet.
